Had an amazing night out with Mish yesterday. Went to catch Act Of Valor (very good movie!) at AMK Hub before heading to Punggol Waterway to wrap up the night. Sat there playing Scramble and Draw Something while laughing ourselves silly at our friends' masterpieces.

We didn't make an effort to dress up like we always do (it was one of those lazy Saturdays). So please pardon my unkempt hair, un-made up face and lazy/boring attire.

My legs look (look only) like they could go on forever here. Haha.

We were bored. Haha.

The lighting was pretty bad. We didn't had the flash on because the pictures look weird with it turned on.

Had my hair tied up to a messy plait. Look at how tiny the braids are. Haha. I think I have less than 1000 strands of hair on my head.

Been wearing a lot of short stuff/clothes lately. Time to get myself lengthi-fied! Haha. Look out for my next outfit post featuring longer length and bold prints.

Oh God. I am still hungry. Even after having a plate of rice with sambal prawns (yes, rice at this hour) and an apple. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?

On a separate note, I am totally digging this round lens glasses! The funny thing is, I look like shit when I put on sunglasses, but despite knowing how shitty I will look like in this one, I still want to own it. I am NEVER drawn to any type of sunglasses. This is the greatest (only) drive yet. Haha.

As usual, the picnic started late. We were all supposed to meet up at 12 pm, but these guys can never make it on time. 12 pm = 2pm. I was one of the first few to reach the meeting point (aka Farah's house). I never learn my lesson. Haha.

Too bad some of them couldn't make it that day :( One more with the full gang okay?

Anyway, this is rather out of context. My SIL has 2 of this lipstick shade (NYX Matte lipstick in Summer Breeze). I do not have actual pictures of the colour when used on the lips because the lipsticks were never tried out or tested (you can google the pictures though). Both are brand new. Headed to Paragon last Sunday with Mish to get his belated birthday present. He wanted a Samsung Galaxy Nexus for his birthday, but the phone was not available locally then. The phone was just launched a couple of weeks ago here. We got out pretty late (around 8-ish pm?), so by the time we completed the purchase, half the malls were already closed.

This is my second pair of coloured jeans. By coloured, I mean anything out of the conventional blue and black. I have taken a strong liking to jeans with reddish/pinkish tones. I think they complement my skin tone, and the subtlety of the colour allows me to mix and match easily.

We made a last minute decision to go to Changi Airport and pay Mish's friend a visit (more like pay Hazel Nutella Shake a visit, haha). We split a cheesy pasta dish and 2 cakes between us.

There has never been a single word/words of 'congratulations' or 'well done' or 'I'm proud of you'. All I hear is criticisms after criticisms. These criticisms wouldn't matter if they're coming from strangers. The reason why it hurts is because you are not just anybody and naturally, I expect you to know better.

Yes, I am sensitive like that. What I do takes a great deal of effort and as much as I don't expect you to appreciate that fact, it would have been better if you had taken that into consideration before passing off any remarks at me. Because nothing hurts more than having the people you love criticising your every effort.

First time taking pictures with my camera under natural light. All my previous photos were taken at night, both indoor and outdoor. I like the natural light better, but Mish and I always go out when the sun is gone.

Anyway, I thought I should bring Iqah out today only because I haven't brought her out in a long, long time. So, we headed to town for some window-shopping. I went to search for my lace shorts and found a couple of pretty ones. Can't wait for pay day next week. Once I get the money, I'm gonna get ALL the things I see today. Yes, all.

Finally got round to punching more holes on my belts! I didn't realise how tiny my waist has become. Still haven't got my clothes altered though. SO MANY TO ALTER! And speaking of undesirable aftermath, I have TONS of stretch marks to clear. Oh well, there's a price to pay for everything.

On a brighter note, I have received my Nastygal parcel! 3 new additions to my wardrobe. Can't wait to wear the other 2 (wore 1 over the weekend). And Alhamdulillah, Mish and I managed to clear the second last stage of our degree. One final sem and that's it.

Usually, after every running session, I would stand in front of the mirror and pull my shorts up to look at the size of my thighs. Today, I decided to do something different- something I don't normally do. Instead of standing in front of the mirror with my shorts pulled up, I stripped out of my clothes and stared at my reflection in the mirror.

And this was what I saw...

,literally.

The thing is, I KNOW how much weight and fats I've lost. I KNOW how much my thighs/arms/tummy have shrunken. But what I didn't know was how I looked like full on without clothes, stripped down to my natural state. And you know what? I WAS (AM) HAPPY WITH WHAT I SAW. I haven't felt so good about my body since secondary school. I was the skinny girl back then, but things took a turn when I entered Poly. Now, I'm back in shape and honestly, I've never been happier.

After a good, long examination of my body, I sat and thought to myself. This was it- the fruit of my labour, the reward for my hard work. I don't need to do anything anymore, I can forget about working towards being 45 kg now, I can forget about reducing my thigh size to 19 inches, I can finally FEEL GOOD about myself again. And so, I've worked out a new target and plan for myself. I decided I should stop losing any more weight and just maintain. So instead of running 4 km 3 times a week, I jog 3 km 2 times a week. Instead of restricting myself to 1000 calories a day, I take in 1500 calories a day (an addition of one full meal). The one thing that is not going to change is my 'no food at night' policy- although I may consider raising the 'curfew' to 10 pm. Of course, I still have to limit myself because the idea is to MAINTAIN and not GO BACK TO WHERE I WAS.

In 5 long months, I shed a total of 7 kg.

Now, standing at 165 cm, weighing 46 kg, I've never felt so proud of myself :)

In short,

I WAS sad...

....but I am happy now. HAHAHAHAHA! Okay bye.

I hate it when people tell me I'm sick, that I'm not getting enough nutrition, that I shouldn't starve myself and that I'm anorexic. For the final time, I am NOT ANOREXIC. A person suffering from anorexia has trouble eating (by this, it means eating little/not taking in sufficient nutrients for the sheer fear of gaining weight)- a trait I clearly do not display. I have my meals at proper times of the day, I eat unhealthy food when I feel like it, I consume at least 1 apple a day, and I drink lots and lots of water everyday. Which part of my diet suggests I'm having an eating disorder? Just 2 days ago, I had Best Fries Forever at 9.30 pm. This morning, I had fried bee hoon AND sambal goreng rice for breakfast. And just a couple of hours ago, I had instant noodles. I'm SO SICK, aren't I?

Losing weight fast does not mean I'm not eating. I guess the simple explanation for this is exercising. I exercise a lot. And I exercise regularly. I jog at least 3 times a week, I jog long distance, and walk whenever I can. I am not lazy. I do not compromise on my diet. I believe I'm doing this right.

So stop with all your accusations/assumptions (yes, all you people who think I'm dying). You're annoying the hell out of me. Why are my actions affecting you so much? I chose to do this, and I did not hurt myself or others in the process. In fact, I feel so much more healthier now than before.

You don't have to tell me where the line is. I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE IT IS.

3 good things happened to me this week :)

1) Nuffnang cheque arrived! $$$

2) A huge NastyGal order was made and the package is now on its way

3) I now weigh 46 kg!

I'd be lying if I say I don't like the progress I'm making on the weighing scale. The only thing that scares me is the speed at which I'm losing weight. I want to be 45 kg eventually, and I want to have smaller thighs, but I can't possibly stop running altogether if I want to maintain this weight right? I still have to exercise a little, otherwise I go back to where I was. If I continue to run and eat healthily after I get to 45 kg, will I shrink further? I don't want to be underweight (as it stands now, I'm already borderline underweight- my BMI is 17). Nevertheless, I am still thankful to the Almighty for giving me strength and determination to embark on this 'project'. I didn't think I would get this far, or be successful at it for that matter :)

So yes, 3 good news! And hopefully, many more to come. Insya Allah.

I am on an eating rampage.

Been eating non stop the past few days, it's scary. The time of the month is nearing, I can feel it. I hate how bloated my tummy become during this period. Haha, 'this period'. So funny.

Wore my dark red/berry Topshop jeans out yesterday. I actually bought it in December last year, but I hadn't found time to wear it out yet. I la-la-love the shade! So pretty.

Town was boring. Singapore is boring. You can't do much if you don't have money. Agree?

The shade of red is gorgeous in real life, I'm not kidding.

Had Ben and Jerry's Double Brownie for dessert. One scoop of cookies and cream, and one scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough, sitting atop a warm, fudgy brownie. Delicious.

Walked around town a bit after dessert. Even with the crazy sales going on everywhere, we couldn't find anything decent to buy. So disappointing.

Met up with Ayu last Friday for my belated birthday dinner. Went to White Sand's Mad Jack for some western cuisine. This girl is too sweet already. I wanted to say I haven't shopped in 2 months, but then I realise the irrelevance of this statement now because I just purchased a leather skirt online earlier on in the evening. Haha.

So yes, I bought a leather skirt (FINALLY). One in burgundy shade. I hope it looks good in real life because it sure as hell looks good in picture.

AND OMG, I SAW THIS SUPER CUTE JEANS YESTERDAY! I need to get my hands on them, pronto. But unfortunately, it has to wait because I'm damn broke + it's not cheap at all. Next week, please come fast. I need monehh.

It was Mish's birthday yesterday! 24 years of living already. My bf's getting old. Eeeeyeerrrr. Hahaha.

As mentioned in an earlier post, Mish and I agreed on a simple celebration this year. We did nothing but eat on his birthday and we couldn't be happier. I haven't been on a food spree since August/September last year. I think my stomach's really happy with the kind of food it was receiving yesterday. Truly a gastronomical delight.

So we started the day with dinner at Fig and Olive at Downtown East. Mish wanted to have steak, so we decided to give this restaurant a try. When we reached the place, it was empty. The only souls present were the staff and the cook. Haha.

I have VERY THIN hands. I look at them and I freak out sometimes.

SUPER GOOD MUSHROOM SOUP. The best I've ever tasted, hands down.

Mish's steak. It doesn't taste as good as it looks, according to Mish (I don't eat beef/mutton). The portion was huge though.

My very boring melted cheese fish and chips. It was pretty decent I guess. I just wished they had put real melted cheese on top of the fish and not those melted Kraft-like square cheese.

Veh cute. Hehe.

We were pretty full by the time we finished dinner. But because we didn't had anywhere to go and Mish's friend had asked that we swing by his workplace when we had the time, we decided to head down to the dessert place straight (aka Kadir's workplace) at Changi Airport.

I love my thighs here! Actually, (don't mean to sound conceited/arrogant but) I think my thighs look good. Also, I like how tall I look now that my thighs have slimmed down. I have always dreamt about being tall and thin. And now, I get to live half that dream :)

My birthday celebration was a quiet and fuss-free affair. We both decided last year that we were gonna celebrate out birthdays simply in the future. I kind of like the idea of a quiet evening with my loved one. After all that Mish has done for me in the past, I really couldn't ask for a bigger and better celebration. At the end of the day, his presence is the only thing I yearn for on my birthday.

We left home for dinner at 6 pm. Earlier on in the day, we had school. Initial plan was to have dinner at Swensen's, but I changed my mind after because I decided I want something soupy and spicy. So we had Thai Express instead. I had the tom yum noodle (yes, I'm very predictable and boring like that) and Mish had the tom yum fried rice.

NOT HAPPY UH??!

I wanted to put on a bit more makeup, but I was clueless as to how to, so I just did my normal makeup (eyeliner + blush) and added mascara to my lashes and swiped some colour on my lips. You can tell from the picture that it's damn FAIL lah. I look like I had no make up on, even after adding all those extra stuff.

We wanted to see who had the best shot of the fried rice with my (old) camera, so we each snapped a photo of it. Picture #1 was shot by Mish, and picture #2 by me. Obviously, the boy from the Photography Club in secondary school won lor.

Oh yes, we had sambal kangkong too.

After dinner, we walked around town for a bit. We had plans to get dessert after, but we didn't want to have them immediately, so we window-shopped a little to let our dinner settle down properly. We had dessert at Swensen's at 10 pm (oops, I strayed away from my 'no-food-after-9pm' rule).

We had this awesome dessert (Banana Crumble) featuring banana crumble (duh), with caramelised banana slices and vanilla ice cream, topped with butterscotch cream sauce. SUPER SINFUL, BUT SUPER GOOOOD, I SWEAR. The hot and cold combination of the caramel and butterscotch sauce with the ice cream is beyond amazing.

Of course we also had the Sticky Chewy Chocolate ice cream malt drink.

Promise I'll find time to sit down and upload my birthday pictures here. Meanwhile....the largest part of my thigh now measures a little less than 20 inches! Back in October last year (2 months into this regime), it measured 21 inches. My ultimate goal is 19 inches. 1 more inch to my ideal thigh size. Let's hope I can accomplish this by February. And InsyaAllah by then, I can stop this crazy plan altogether and just eat healthy. Amin.

I hate how I'm always busy mid-week. Honestly, I'd rather be busy on Mondays and Fridays. Anyway, I'm sitting on a bus right now, heading to Mish's house for tuition with his nephew. This is followed by classes at the tuition centre. Yesterday, I had school from 9 am all the way till freaking 10 pm. Tomorrow, I have school at 9 am. Today, I had 1 prata for lunch and 1 box of popcorn chicken for dinner. That sums up to about 600 calories. Also, I ran a distance of 4 km in the afternoon. Loving how small my stomach and tummy has become. I am now able to eat less and feel full fast. I think my metabolism's speeding up. Well done, Syirin.

Today's post is gonna be a bit lengthy. I'll be blogging about 3 events that took place over the last week/this week.

1. Bugis with my niece

Headed to Bugis on a Saturday to help my niece find her high waist jeans and crop union jack tee. Haven't been there for the longest time. Was surprised to see some pretty neat stuff being sold there. The clothes are not that cheap though. A common-looking blogshop piece can easily cost you a little over $20. :/

Niece finally got her stuff. Both items cost her $50. Her high waist jeans alone costs $40. NOT CHEAP AT ALL. Can get at a blogshop for $26? The only reason why she never purchased it online was because they didn't have one in her size.

2. Dinner cum catch up/karaoke session with the girls

Finally met up with the girls after ages of not seeing one another last Monday. Initially, there were only 3 of us. Shar and Farah joined us later (unfortunately, Midah couldn't make it ): ).

We met Shar at Orchard itself and had dinner at Thai Express. It was Shar's treat (:

After dinner, we went to the toilet to camwhore! Haha. We spent a good half hour (I think I might be understating this. Hehe) taking photos after photos of us. We even made sure all of us had a picture taken with one another.

Kae looks exceptionally small in all the photos here (especially in the one where she was standing beside me). She is actually one of the tallest in the group, but she didn't had her heels on that day while the rest of us did. So kesian.

Kae left us for dikir practice after dinner. The rest of us girls headed to Topshop and H&M. We stopped by Best Fries Forever and Famous Amos at Cine before making our way to The Grand Cathay to meet Farah.

Anyway, the plan was to play games at St Games (haha). But upon reaching, the staff told us that they were closed for the night. So disappointing ): We walked so far you know. While deciding on the next course of action, we camwhored, again! Hehe.

And then we decided. Karaoke at Kbox Cine it was! (Back to square one. Haha) We didn't walk back though. We took the bus instead.

Kae came back to meet us after her dikir practice. By then, it was already 12.30? But so sweet lah, she cabbed all the way down from Simei.

Overall, it was a night well spent (: Really wish Midah was there with us.

3. Sentosa with love

Sentosa with love on a cool, dry Tuesday. We had to take a raincheck the other time because it was pouring madly. Thank god the weather was awesome.

Mish had purchased two $5 tickets for Luge, Go Green and Songs of the Sea from a friend prior to our trip (Honestly, it was the only reason we were there in the first place. I would definitely NOT PAY the full amount for these rides. Haha. I damn cheapo one. Anyway, the deal was too good to pass up. Plus, I never took these rides before).

Decided to go green that day and left the bike/car at home. Took the public transport for a change. Mish hadn't ride in them for years now.

First up- Go Green ride. We had a one-on-one practice session with the staff before we were allowed the chance to go on our own. It was actually pretty easy to maneuver the thing around. At first look, it seemed complicated.

I knocked into a tree on the second round. It was damn funny, I swear. Imagine me screaming, while helplessly trying to gain balance and control of that machine. Hahaha!

Next up, it was Luge. I was SO looking forward to this ride. We had to take the Skyride up before we could take the Luge ride.

LUGE WAS SCARY, BUT DAMN FUN! Too bad we only had 2 rides. I bumped into the curb a couple of times on the first ride. So kental, I know. Don't laugh at me okay. I couldn't estimate the amount of effort to put in when swerving right and left, so I ended up crashing onto the curb half the time. I suffered a baluku on my right leg near the ankle because of this ): The second try was smoother because Mish finally decided to impart some of his skills and knowledge. Selfish lor my boyfriend. Hmmph!

By the time we were done with the Luge, it was pretty late. We decided to sell our Songs of the Sea tickets to a family (we had 4). That summed up our day at Sentosa.

SUPER FUN DAY, I SWEAR. And I love my bf because he was damn handsome that day.

A lot of the things in my wardrobe don't fit me very well anymore. I used to be able to fit into a uk size 10 for bottom, but a 10 is too big for me now. I used to wear a size 28 jeans, but I can fit into 26, sometimes even 25 now. I could previously only wear size 8 top/dress, but I can easily slip into a size 6 now. My clothes don't hang on me nicely anymore. Loose shoulders, bigger arm openings, creased and baggy bottoms... I still want these clothes in my closet though. I could get all of them altered, but then I'll have lots of clothes to alter. I could get myself new clothes, but I need lots of money to buy new things. How? ):

I think it's about time I expose this ill managed (local) company to the world. There is nothing more worse than having a company run by an irresponsible group of people, who has virtually no regards for discharging its duties and obligations properly. This company is responsible for my going back and forth, wasted trips, unnecessary spending of time, effort and money. This company is called Chic Magazine (yes, the same company who organised the Chic Girl competition which I foolishly took part in and won in July this year).

So, this was how it started. I was promised a trip for 2 to Tokyo for winning the overall Chic Girl title (I also won a $300 TinyFry's voucher for being Chic Girl of the week. This is important information. I'll get back to this later) Normally, upon winning, the organiser would contact the winner to provide him/her with the relevant details of the prize (like how to go about claiming it and stuff like that). But this is not the case with Chic. NOBODY contacted me about the prize trip months after winning the competition. NOBODY came to remind me of the unclaimed prize. There was no meetup, no verbal communication, no electronic notification, no phonecall. NOTHING. ZILCH. Naturally, I felt very worried.

I was called down for a photoshoot sometime in August. The shoot was (supposedly) for the September/October issue. Do take note that I wasn't paid for the shoot. I was only informed of the shoot at MBS the night before (super last minute), therefore I had to cancel all my plans for the following day (how inconvenient). This was wasted time, effort and money on my side (because eventually, the magazine was not launched).

In October (3 months into winning the competition), I decided to email Chic and enquire about my prize trip.

Honestly, I was expecting a prompt reply. After months of waiting, all I wanted was an answer. I don't think this was too much to ask for. 3 days passed and not a single reply. And because it was October (the supposed magazine launch month), I wrote on their wall to ask about the no-show.

And SUDDENLY, the launch of the magazine was postponed to December. -_-

12 days after my first email was sent to them, they finally responded. Definitely not the response I was looking for. Just more delay.

12 more days passed, and still no reply. I became impatient.

6 more days (this was my boiling point). STILL. NO. FUCKING. ANSWER.

(This is where the TinyFry's voucher come in) My mum, Iqah and I went down to TinyFry's somewhere in the end of November to utilize the $300 voucher which I got from Chic. There was NO EXPIRY DATE stated on the voucher and it said that the voucher could only be utilised when TinyFry's store opens. TinyFry's opened its doors in August/September. So given the fact that there was NO EXPIRY DATE on the voucher (and no verbal communication of redemption date), I would think that 2 months is a reasonable time to claim. When I asked the staff over at TinyFry's about the voucher, they said it has already expired. LIKE WTF???!!! I was pretty upset because I really wanted to get Iqah an ipod. But the more disappointing thing was I was not formally educated/informed of the rules and regulations governing the claim of the prize.

2 weeks later (from the time the last email was sent), I emailed Chic again.

STILL NO FUCKING REPLY. Things felt wrong. How is it possible that 3 emails can go unnoticed?? So again, I wrote on their wall (to enquire about the magazine now). This time, there was no reply to my post (even to this date). And yes, this was already December.

FINALLY, after weeks (months actually) of waiting for an APPROPRIATE/RELEVANT answer, Chic replied my emails.

Oh look, another brief, uninformative, incomplete and not relevant response (on my main prize). Also, I believe there is enough information here to tell me that they're ceasing operations (eg. I cannot claim my prize till after next year's CNY. Okay, so that'll give them plenty of time to close down and run away from all their liabilities. Read this too: http://www.yebber.com/review/chic-magazine-by-immedius-press/) Also, an ex-photographer of Chic has informed me that Chic was closed for the month of November to ''reserve'' what available funds they are left with. He also told me that if Chic doesn't launch its magazine in December, it is probably closed for good. WTFFFFFF? And wait, how about my TinyFry's voucher?

Can you see the rudeness in this email? 1) Did not address me by my name, 2) Did not sign off properly, 3) THAT'S IT? "WE'RE SORRY" WITH NO FUCKING EXPLANATION?

Up to this day, I still have not received/could not claim ANY of the promised prizes. I still have not gotten the answers I'm looking for. I still have not seen the magazine in which I'm suppose to appear in. I still have not been given consideration for the time and effort spent in preparing for the competition and the photoshoot for the magazine. Going MIA will not bring you to a better position. You are still liable, still obliged to procure me my prize.

Really, at this point of time, all I want to do is get my father to engage a lawyer and bring this matter to court. Thankfully, my dad is on my side and we're ready to do whatever it takes to get us back on the deserving spot. Right now, I'm just waiting. A few more tries, a few more chances. One wrong move and that's it. I guarantee the going down of your company.

Had a lovely time with the bf today. Initial plan was to go Sentosa (that was before it rained). Then we decided to go JB, but then there was a massive jam in Tuas. So we settled for a movie at Marina Square instead. I was severely underdressed (I wore jeans and sandals). I really thought we were going to make it to Sentosa, or JB at least.

Anyway, we caught the 9 pm show for Sherlock Holmes. Guy Ritchie (director) is brilliant and Robert Downey Jr is just amazing. It was a really enjoyable movie. Witty and clever.

Satisfied my craving for prawn noodle too. Yum.

23rd December 2011- 20.5 inches.

Reduction of 0.5 inches in 2 months. Pretty slow progress I must say, considering the amount of weight I lost in the same time period. And yes, I haven't mentioned this here yet. I now weigh 48 kg (yay!). I love my current weight, but I'm not gonna stop just yet, because my thigh is still an issue. I may possibly be underweight by the time my thigh problem is fixed, but that won't matter because the thinner, the better (by this, I mean skin and bones-thin, not just hanging bones-thin).

Was at Mish's house earlier on and his mum and sis commented on how pale and thin I look (in his mum's words, I look like 'popeye's wife, Olivia'). I haven't been to his place since 1 month ago, and already they're telling me this. Have I really, visibly, lost that much weight? I mean, yes, I see that on the weighing scale, but physically? Very minor difference; nothing worth getting excited about?

Less than a month to my birthday! I want to look good by then. Got hope or not?

I'm turning into a really unhealthy person. I see myself eating non-stop these days and it's freaking me out. I need to get to 47 kg by the end of next week. And I need to get my tummy washboard flat back again. During the exam period, I can survive with only 1 meal a day, everyday. But now that exams are over, 1 meal seems so......impossible. It doesn't help either that I have things to do in the day, and you know what they say about staying up. Right now, as I'm typing, I'm fighting the urge to go to the kitchen and make myself a toast. This is bad. How the hell does Miranda Kerr do it man?

My holiday started off pretty slow. There were a lot of work and school stuff to settle this week, so I spent most of my time getting the formalities done. (SHIT. I just popped a pineapple tart into my mouth. Haha) Anyway, next year will be a very busy year for me. I have school 2 days a week (2 different lessons back to back on one of the days) and tuition most likely 3 days a week. I know it sounds like I don't have much on my plate from this very description but really, I have a lot going on for me next year. I'm just hoping I can squeeze in some running time in between all that madness.

To answer the question a couple of you have been asking, I have decided to put together a blog entry about my diet/exercise regime. This is just something I came up with (of course, based on research and help from the bf) and imposed upon myself, therefore I cannot guarantee the same result for all of you. This is not the best diet plan out there, but it works just fine for me.

But before I get to that, here's a little history.

About 2 years ago, I embarked on a poorly-planned/implemented weight-reduction programme. The programme failed because, 1) I exercised only about 2 times a week (15 minutes each time), 2) I had difficulty (no discipline) adhering to the programme, 3) I still eat whatever I want, at whatever time I please, and 4) I quit in the first month after seeing no results (no patience).

Fast forward to 3 months ago, I realised how important it was for me to get back in shape (not that I was in good shape previously, but I have no other way of saying this). I saw myself looking at pictures of skinny girls on the net at every hour of the day and getting jealous over their beautiful bodies. I was pretty determined to lose weight after that. Hence, I put forth a new regime, and vowed never to stray away from it.

I started off slow. I didn't put a restriction on what I eat, but I ran 2 times a week diligently. After Mish stressed out the importance of looking after my diet, I decided to review my overall weight-reduction plan. I became more mindful of the things I put in my mouth. There were some other changes to the initial plan as well. Okay, I shall stop all these blabbering. This is my diet/exercise plan:

DIET

- I drink plain water only (water is believed to help lose weight fast)

- If I feel like having a sweet drink, I only take a couple of sips

- I snack on fruits when I'm feeling hungry at night

- If I want to have unhealthy food like fries or Ruffles (gosh, I keep mentioning Ruffles everytime I talk about food), I put a restriction on the amount consumed; say if I want to eat Kinder Bueno, I only take 2 squares out of the total 8 squares in one packet

- On days where I really cannot tahan, I will allow myself to indulge, but I compensate for it by not eating anymore of such stuff in the following week

- I cut down on the amount of rice/noodles (basically, any carb-rich food) I take in daily

- I try to have one meal a day, otherwise, I have two (one full meal, one small meal)

- I try to eat one apple every day

- I make my mum cook fishball soup for me almost everyday. Hahaha. I eat rice with fishball soup and vegetables at least 3 times a week. This is my dinner.

- I eat white noodles like mee hoon and laksa bee hoon, instead of yellow noodles.

- I count my calories. I restrict myself to 1000 calories a day. A complete meal can easily cost you 350-500 calories.

Basically, I still eat whatever I want. But I put a limit to the quantity I take in and I forgo certain food/drinks completely (like Coke).

EXERCISE

- I jog for 35 minutes a day, every other day.

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE PLAN

HAVE PATIENCE. Remember that there is no such thing as miracles when it comes to this; only sheer determination, discipline and hard work. I'm no health guru/pro (hey, I'm still learning and applying this regime myself), but I do believe success comes to those who work for it. My motivation? My clothes and those skinny girls.

Blogging from my bed cause I am lazy to get up and switch on the computer. Mish decided to jog with me today. I don't know why, but everytime we run together, I feel a lot tired than when I go run alone. It is definitely not the speed, for I am sure I run at my normal pace (1st round fast, 2nd round constant, 3rd round slow). I just can't figure out what it is.. Haha.

After jogging, we played badminton with my mum and Iqah for a while before heading home. I needed the exercise today, especially after having laksa for dinner and a little bit of Ruffles after the jog (bad, bad decision. tsk).

I really don't know how long this regime will last. I'm praying harder each day, that God will help me get my small thighs fast. I'm looking at 2/3 more months of sacrifice and resistance. I want to enjoy my food!!

Anyway, I apologise for the influx of these 'diet and exercise-related' entries. I just need a place to document my growth/transition, so that when I get fat again one day (hopefully, never), I can look back and tell myself I did it once and I can always do it again. This is by far, the biggest achievement I've ever made, as far as getting thin is concerned. I'm in it to win it. But seriously uh, please stop me if I'm starting to get TOO skinny.

Went out to Milennia Walk/Marina Square with my mum and niece on Wednesday. Wanted to try out the cupcakes at Twelve Cupcakes but by the time we reached (it was 7 pm), the only flavours left were red velvet and one other I don't remember because the design/colour was pretty bland and unmemorable. We had dinner at KFC and shopped around a bit, and.....I saw the perfect dark red/burgundy jeans! Didn't try it on due to time constraint, but I'm so gonna do so when I head out to town with Mish tomorrow. Hope it looks good on me!

Exams are over. But I'm not in the slightest bit of mood for celebration. Both papers were tough (and I am not tough enough). I'm relief though- for a huge burden has been lifted off me. I pray I don't have to re-sit for any of the papers I just sat for. Pray for me, please? ):

On a positive note, I now weigh.........49 kg! YAY! 1 more kg to my desired weight. But 4 more kg to my NEW desired weight. Hehe. It just hit me now how much I've lost over these 3 and a half months. I mean, I only started to lose weight at the early half of the 3rd month/later half of the 2nd. And even then, the weight loss was insignificant. THIS 3RD GOING 4TH MONTH HAS JUST BEEN AH-MA-ZING. My weight's starting to drop really fast. I don't know why, but I'm sure as hell liking it. Thank you love, for encouraging me and helping me to achieve this. Please continue to put that Ruffles away from me.

Now, to start on my to-do list.

I have always wanted a badass leather dress, but I never got around to buying/owning one because, 1) leather is bloody expensive (and even the non-genuine leather ones come with hefty price tags) and, 2) it's hard to find one that actually flatters my body shape.

I really like this leather dress. But it costs a whopping £150 pounds! And this is not even the original retail price; this is the sale price. I'm hoping for the price to go lower after Christmas/before the New Year.

AND OH MY GOD. HOW GORGEOUS IS THIS MAXI??? Is it just the dress, or is it really her? The way the dress falls on her, it's as if it was MADE for her.

Found this site on the web which helps to calculate the daily calorie intake a person needs in order to lose/gain weight. If I want to lose about 1 kg each week, I have to halve my calorie intake each day. I don't see this as a problem now because I wake up pretty late everyday and only have time for one small dinner and fruits at night. But what happens after exams? I'll have nothing to do and I'll get hungry all the time.

Taking 30 minutes off from studying to blog and to play games. Hehe. Life's been treating me fine, to say the least. I'm more or less prepared for my exams, just need to do a little brushing up here and there. I think (I hope) I got everything covered. Sadly, I don't have the confidence to take on the exams and kick ass. At the level I'm in, it's pretty tough. The amount of stress I'm receiving is equally overwhelming. Thank god I have the boyfriend to see me through this exam, and thank god we're carrying this burden together. Hopefully, we'll make it big one day. You the CEO, and me, the CEO's wife. Hehe. Can't believe I met someone who's on the same path as me. Same dreams, same ambitions.

Anyway, I can't wait for exams to be over!! If I can take both papers now, I'd do it. I just want to get things over and done with fast, you know?

On a separate note, the weighing scale's hovering along the borders of 49 and 50. It's a very, very, very, very, VERY slight tilt towards 49 now (ocassionally, it stays at 50) and I'm beginning to feel that I can actually do this thing. Miracles don't happen overnight; that's one thing I have learnt in my pursuit. You have no idea how much dreading I have to deal with just to go for my run every other day. And oh, the temptation to eat at night still get to me. I'm looking forward to the day where I can eat freely again; drink coke, eat macspicy (actually, I don't think I like coke and macspicy anymore), eat cheese fries without having to put a number to the fries consumed, eat my favourite ruffles again, etc. Aiyah, but it's still a long way away. Probably another 3 months or so before I could probably love my body completely. That means my dear thighs, you have got to co-operate.

Time flies when you're 21. I guess from this point onwards, time will just keep moving faster and faster. Everything is rushed and we are constantly under pressure. There are datelines to be met, work issues to be resolved, major exams to study for, personal goals to achieve. I wish time would stay still for a moment, so that I can catch my breath for a while. Oh, take me back to the time where everything was just laid back and slow-moving; where life was easy and we were carefree; where our only problems were problem sums and not those of relationship/finance/physical outlook (ahem! okay, this is self-inflicted *guilty*); where money don't buy us happiness; where family and friends were there to share our joy and pain; where school was a big playground and everybody were friends; where everything was not competitive, not stressful; where everything was beautiful, and we were genuinely happy.

Where is that time now? Where has it gone to?

I purchased this leopard tank a few days ago from Topshop. Been eyeing it for a while now, and finally, I get to own it. The search for it was horrible. I went to every Topshop store I could think of, with hopes of securing a piece. Unfortunately, the smaller sizes had run out and most of the stores only carry large sizes. But me, being the persistent one, kept on searching till I found one in UK 6- the only piece left. Can you believe it? I am one happy and lucky girl.

So anyway, Mish and I went on a short movie and dinner date yesterday. We watched Breaking Dawn and I must warn you, THE MOVIE SUCKED. BIG TIME. We had thoughts on leaving the theatre midway, but we decided against it in the end because we felt it could prove us wrong eventually, in the later parts of the movie. Turned out, we should have gone with the former instead.

Last week, I purchased a dress from Nastygal. A few days after placing my order, I went to check the status of it and saw that it was still 'in progress'. I found it odd because usually, my items would be shipped out the day following order placement/confirmation. So, I contacted Nastygal to ask about the status. Right after my email was sent, I sensed disappointing news. And true enough, they did revert with disappointing news. Recently, they adopted a new inventory system which resulted in a lot of problems. The system caused some items to continue selling, even though they had actually sold out before the time of the order. And because of this technical mishap, my order was cancelled and I couldn't get this pretty dress!! ):

I really can cry now! I don't own any dress in this pretty, olive colour and I love the gold buttons that run through the front of the dress. It's super unique; I don't think I can find anything similar in SG ): ): ):

Even though they've compensated me since, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed with their lack of technical competence/professionalism in setting up a proper inventory system. I hope they get this problem fixed soon.

Omg!! I lost another kg! What a pleasant surprise. I couldn't believe it when I stepped on the weighing scale before dinner yesterday. But after weighing myself again after dinner yesterday and today, I realise I have truly shed another kg. I am now 50 kg. Gonna aim for 48 kg now. Alhamdulillah!!

If you know me well enough, you should know that I hate leaving my blog untouched for a long time. Yes, even in the period leading up to exams. The funny thing is I don't even have many people reading my blog, yet there is this 'obligation' to write something.

Lately, I've been busy studying for my exams. I only go to bed at 7 am, and wake up at 3 pm in the afternoon. Keeping up with my diet has been challenging under this circumstance. The longer I stay up, the hungrier I get, and fruits make boring companion when you're terribly stressed out. Sometimes, I wonder why I make myself go through such shit. Food is wonderful, but I guess having a beautiful body is everything.

On a positive note, I lost 1 kg (yah, like after 3 months. TUEHBKJSNAJBGDHSF!!). But I do see/feel the difference in my body and I'm liking it. I need to build on my endurance so that I can run longer distance and achieve my goal faster. My thigh and butt fats are so stubborn though! The only body part that's visibly shrinking is my stomach/tummy and probably my arms too.

It'll definitely take a while....

Even if it leads nowhere.

I slipped and fell while running (the track was wet) yesterday. Now I have one big ''or-cheng'' on my left knee. It didn't hurt so bad when I fall, so I continued running (I didn't even bother checking out the bruise). When I reached home, I saw this huge patch of bloody thingy on my knee. And after bathing, the bruise started hurting. It's been a long time since I last fall and hurt myself. Must take care of my legs now more than ever ):

The past few entries here were drafted and published through the Blogger app for iPhone. Ever since I came to know of this app's existence, I haven't been using the computer much because blogging has been made so much easier. I can now blog on the go and I can upload pictures straight from my phone. The only bad thing I have to say about it is that I can't resize the pictures to my desired dimensions. Apart from that minor flaw, everything here works well for me (:

I know I haven't been updating this space with proper photos of myself (ahem!), so below are random snippets of events that took place and people I was with the past week.

The past week was just one of those rare weeks where I get to spend all the days I had with all the people I love at one time. I treasure such moments dearly because they don't come often and they don't come easy either.

I am going to embark on a new diet soon. The current one i'm in is good, but I want to restrict myself further so that I can see results faster. In addition to the no-food-after-9 pm rule, i am now not allowed to consume sugared drinks and have chocolates/crackers (goodbye ruffles, I will miss having you in my mouth). I can only take in rice once every day, and I must try to skip lunch and go straight to dinner.

I threw away 2 new contact lenses in a span of one week. I now know that it's not you, but rather, it's me. My right eye is badly infected )): Looks like I have to ditch them contacts for a while and put on my ugly glasses. Nyehh.

I am really, really bored right now, but i refuse to touch my book at this hour because it's still pretty early and my motor doesn't start running till at least 1 am. So, before I bury my mind (and heart) on Michael Porter and his diamond, I want to share with you a couple of products I swear by. They are basic, readily available products that I usually put on my face when I'm heading out to town with my bf/friends.

Clockwise from left to right:

1) Rhomlon Elegance liquid eyeliner ($4.80, Mustafa Centre)

I really like the effect this eyeliner produce when drawn on my eyelids. The black is just dark enough, and the brush just thick enough for my liking (I prefer my lines thin). Also, the ink virtually never run out. I have been using the same pen for almost a year now.

2) Benefit's Benetint rose-coloured cheek and lip stain ($30, shipped in from the states)

This is the first (and only) blusher I've ever purchased/owned. I first got to know of its existence from Tammy (I read her blog post on it). I was immediately drawn to its sheer, natural appeal. I love the subtlety of the rose colour, and I also like the fact that I don't need to use much to add colour to my face.

3) Acne Clear pimple treatment cream ($4.50, Guardian Pharmacy)

My mum introduced me to this pimple cream a few years back when it was a lot cheaper (say $3.00?) The price rocketed over the past year, but that is not a push factor for me as this thing really works. It removes active pimples and scars effectively. The only downside to this product is that it gives off a burnt matchstick smell that stays throughout until you wash it off.

Okay, that's all for my favourite beauty products (so boring, I know). Gotta go settle some things now. Maybe, one of these days, I'll do a 'what's in my bag' or 'what's in my closet' post. Till then, goodnight.

Been on this diet and exercise regime for about 2 months now. I can see and feel the difference (in terms of size and mass) in all of my upper body, including my face. The bottom half of my body is still very stubborn though. Hopefully, I can get my desired thigh size by the end of this year (a little impossible, but i'm not giving up just yet). If that doesn't happen then, I'll just try again for another 6 months and see how it goes.

Also, i don't know if it's just me or the the insanely good weather, but i've been feeling extremely lazy and tired of late. Even though I am temporarily unemployed (school holiday= no tuition) and have the bulk of the week to myself, I can't seem to get any studying done and exams are just around the corner. It certainly doesn't help either that I don't feel guilty for my lack of focus and productivity ):

I actually have a lot more to say here right now, but my mind's in a jumbled mess and I can't seem to figure out which/what to say first. Maybe sleep will help sort things out, and get my mind up and running again.

Worked with the gf, bf and friends at Shangri-La Hotel yesterday. It was a one-off gig that require us (Que and I) to chaperone award winners up the stage. Meanwhile, bf and friends helped out backstage with the AV system and what not. The job was pretty simple and the hours were short. Just my cup of tea ((:

The gala dinner was for NUS-ISS. We were told to dress in black cocktail dresses and heels with make up. This was my second attempt at putting on full make up by myself. My mum said I look like I didn't had make up on, and that the only make up visible was my lipstick. I swear I had blusher on, but it fail to come out in pictures ):

I didn't use the belt that came with the dress because it was damn loose on me (believe it or not, I have super skinny waist). But really, the belt was meant for someone wayyyyy bigger than TWO of me. I think they gave me the wrong belt :/
